A lovely episode as usual, full of award opportunities. I think it looks good for TAR's Emmy this year! Anyway, on to the awards.
Charla and Mirna and Dustin and Kandice get the Broken Barbie Doll OF Empowerment for having the two all-girl teams finish first. In my memory, a 1-2 all-girl finish has never happened, and kudos to them for picking the right Detour and racing well.
Uchenna and Joyce get a Free Fast Forward so they will not be eliminated next week. In my mind, they have 100x more class than some people left on this race (Listening, ERIC?) Even though they have already woon this race, I think that they deserve a little more airtime-and adventure-than certain people.
Dustin and Kandice get the Sugar Packet of Sweetness for paining the little girl's nails for free. It didn't affect their placement, and it gave the little girl something to be happy about. It's a rare breed of racer that takes time out from the competition to do something nice for the locals, and kudos to them for that.
And finally, Oswald and Danny get the Pure Comedy Gold Medal for their hilarious antics at the mat. For those of you who didn't see it, here's what happened; Oswald and Danny's hands were covered with coal dust from the Detour. When they got out of their car to run to the mat, they didn't just step on the mat, they started yelling, "Phil! I'm hugging you, I'm hugging you!" Oswald and Danny chased Phil around the field where the mat was before the check in. However this explanation doesn't do it justice-you HAVE to see it to belie it. This was probably one of the funniest moments ever on the Race, and it is very deserving of this award. Oswald and Danny, keep racing with that style and class that you always have had, and keep having fun. I love you guys.
And that's the awards for this week.
